After joining the team in 2022 as a research assistant, Dr Katelyn Collins completed her PhD through the University of Southern Queensland in November 2025. Her project (supervised by A/Prof Belinda Goodwin, Dr Michael Ireland, and Dr Larry Myers) focused on enhancing the use of mailed letters in the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program using insights from consumers and psychological science. In collaboration with members of the Bowel Cancer Screening Alliance, insights from this research was used to inform the redesign of the invitation letters distributed in the NBCSP. Katelyn currently leads the Cancer Screening and Prevention research group at the Viertel Cancer Research Centre (Cancer Council Queensland).
